French Club
The French Club is open to any student wishing to learn more about culture and language. Students participate in projects and activities for each meeting, like cooking, watching a film, or discussing global issues. This year our community service focus is Haiti. We are planning several fund raising events to help the victims of the 2009 earthquake who are still suffering from homelessness and health problems.
We also are beginning a tutoring program at St. Clement’s School in St. Bernard this year, Several of our French 3 and 4 students have signed up to offer a French Club to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. We are excited to extend our interest in language and culture to the community!
The French Department also offers travel opportunities to all members of the Roger Bacon Community. In the past few years we have visited Canada, France, Ireland, Germany, London, Spain, Italy and Switzerland. We are presently planning our next trip to Paris, the Riviera and Rome for June of 2013.
